The 7th Joy of Giving Week is here to help spread happiness by acts of giving all over India. Last year millions of rupees were raised through 1,000 events organized in 200 places all over India. At Impact Guru we are celebrating all of October as the Joy Of Giving Week. And need your support to change lives and provide opportunities to the less privileged.
Over the years, this festival of giving has become a ritual for a lot of people. NGOs, Corporates as well as schools and colleges throughout the country spend time to organize wonderful events! Whether it is a collection and redistribution of items, money donations, skills or training, it represents a great opportunity to federate people around a good cause and spread the joy of Giving among Indians. Giving is already such an integral part of our culture.
Help us spread the #JoyOfGiving!
There are two ways in which you can help:
>Participate in our #JoyOfGiving contest! A simple and fun way of giving back to your favourite NGO. All you need to do is take a picture or short video of you doing something good and share it on social media using the hashtags #ImpactGuru #JoyofGivingWeek.
Yes! It’s that easy. And of course, no contest is complete without a Prize. The winner receives a Rs. 5000 voucher to use on our website to support a cause of his/her choice. We have listed several NGOs working on a wide range of social issues; from child education, women empowerment to rehabilitating the homeless. So join this #JoyOfGivingWeek on social media to support a cause that you’re passionate about. Dates of the contest: October 2 to 31.
>The second activity aims at giving a BIG shout-out to all the NGOs, corporates , schools and colleges, which are making great efforts to make the Joy of Giving Week a great success.
We love what Bosch India is doing! It is celebrating the entire month of October. The associates give time and effort for twenty plus different activities that spanned from career counseling, cleaning the city, taking children to museums and malls, visiting old age homes, afforestation drives, books and clothes donation drives. Bosch Associates in Bangalore and Coimbatore will clock in close to 7000 hours of Volunteering during this month. BRILLIANT!
NGO’s like Blind People’s Association India has taken the opportunity to collect 20 other NGOs to invite their donors to an evening of music and gourmet food, all the while raising funds for their causes. This grand event called “Food For Change” was organized this year on Gandhi Jayanti 2nd October, 2015.
The colleges are not behind, Thadomal Shahani Centre for Management (TSCFM) facilitated a workshop to create awareness about using crowdfunding as a great tool for community service and
drive social change. Next week onwards, through Youth Social Responsibility Fundraising Challenge students at TSCFM will participate in a unique competition to support and enable nonprofits. Through the month-long fundraising competition, students will compete in teams of 2 to raise funds for select nonprofits on our platform. The challenge is designed in such a way that it incorporates components of technology, communication and entrepreneurship to create a holistic learning experience for students.
