Do you remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? I am sure you do, the challenge required you to either pour a bucket full of ice-cold water on yourself or donate to the ALS Foundation. It became viral in a matter of days and allowed the ALS Foundation to raise Rs 600 crores in one month. Shocking, right?
You may ask how did this happen? It was only possible only because people took the initiative to spread the word about the challenge and, simultaneously, the cause, on social media. More than 1 million individuals posted videos and 1.5 million tweets talked about it. Imagine! We just have the perfect example that all together with social media we can help raise awareness and create an impact just by sharing.
